Are you a Canadian studio?

Yes! We are Proudly Canadian! Our company is Shortgenie Ltd. doing business as SG Fursuit. We are federally incorporated in Canada and fully Canadian-owned and operated. When you order from us, you’re getting a truly Canadian product, made with our trademark quality, ethics, and care.

How is your service so fast and affordable? It sounds too good to be true!

We choose to base our Canadian owned and operated studio in China. Manufacturing in China allows us to:

  • Offer significantly better prices: Our full studio-quality digitigrade fursuits start at $5850 USD—compared to $11,000 USD (or more) from some other Western studios*.
  • Deliver much faster turnaround: We guarantee payment-to-delivery in 6 months or less, while the typical wait time in the industry is 12–24+ months*.
  • Access higher quality materials: China offers superior fur fabrics and specialized fursuit components, often at better quality and lower prices than what’s available in North America*.
  • Give you more with every order: Because our full-time team works from our dedicated studio, we include complementary custom-sized, rollable travel cases and personalized swag—extras rarely offered elsewhere*.

Can I see photos of your studio or staff?

We occasionally share photos of our team and studio on our website and social media so you can see the people and place behind your suit.

Getting Started & Ordering

How do I commission a suit or get a quote?

Submit our quote form with your design, measurements, and reference(s). If your concept is accepted, you’ll receive a $500 CAD deposit invoice and we’ll begin your custom reference sheet.

Can I commission you if I'm under 18?

No. We only accept commissions from adults 18+ with proof of ownership of the character.

Can I order just a head, paws, tails, or other components?

We offer fursuit heads and digitigrade bodysuits as individual items.

Process & Timeline

How long does it take to get my suit?

We guarantee payment-to-delivery in 6 months or less under normal operations. We typically ship completed suits 4 weeks ahead of deadline.

What's the process from start to finish?

  1. Submit a quote and deposit
  2. We make your custom reference sheet
  3. You approve and pay the remaining balance
  4. We build your suit and send WIP updates
  5. Once complete, we confirm shipping, insure, and deliver your suit

Will I get progress photos?

At least one WIP photo is included. Additional photos are provided when possible, but not guaranteed for every client.

Payments & Refunds

How do I pay?

All payments are by emailed invoice. $500 CAD deposit first (if accepted), then the remaining balance before construction begins.

Do you take payment plans or third-party checkouts?

Currently, all payments are made directly to us—no automated or split payment plans.

What happens if you miss the 6-month guarantee?

If your suit isn’t shipped on time, we refund 5% of the full value for every full month overdue. Delays caused by shipping strikes or disruptions outside our control are excluded.

What is your refund policy?

  • Cancel during reference sheet stage: 50% of your deposit refunded
  • No refunds once construction begins
  • If we must cancel for any reason, you get a full refund including deposit

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to USA/Canada. Shipping is free with partial and fullsuit orders.

How do you ship?

All suits ship in a custom-fitted, rollable case with full insurance, tracking, and signature required.

What if shipping is delayed by customs or strikes?

We are not responsible for delays outside our control, but will keep you informed and provide tracking at all times.

Aftercare & Warranty

Does my suit come with a warranty?

Yes! 7 days from delivery, covering manufacturing/material defects (not normal wear or issues from customer-submitted measurements).

Do you offer repairs or alterations?

We do not officially offer repairs, but if you need help, email us—we’ll provide tips, supplies, or recommend a third-party repair service.

How do I take care of my suit?

Each suit includes a care tag with cleaning and storage instructions. Please follow these carefully to ensure long-lasting quality.

Design & Artwork

Who creates the reference sheet and art for my suit?

Our in-house artist creates all artwork and reference sheets.

Do I own the reference sheet and art?

Yes, when your commission is completed. If your order is canceled, all artwork remains property of SG Fursuit.

Do you allow fanart of your mascot, Voltra?

Yes, fanart is encouraged. Voltra's dedicated page is coming soon!
